An Ode to Repeat
Artwork by Paul Wright |
and the way your words intertwine
with the song that plays in my mind all morning
I wonder, if anything could be any sweeter
A fire of life glimpse through your eyes
Hazel, sand, and ash may define
The color of leisured blur I see
When you take a moment and glance at me
A scent of dirt after the first storm
Uplifts me by the spirits
Leather, musk, and spice linger
When you pass me by, a rogue beat stutters
Fine are these things, fair and true
Somehow begging for my sanity
Even the ballads of the ages will live to agree
To this gentle poem that is you.
